What is a Heat Pump?
A Heat Pump provides a more efficient way of heating your water compared to standard hot water storage and gas options. A Heat Pump works by pulling heat from outside air into the water rather than using excessive energy to heat an element. In Australia, 25% of the average household energy bill is attributed to hot water when using a typical hot water storage unit. A Heat Pump typically uses 60-70% less electricity than a standard storage unit.
A well designed Heat Pump can act as a more affordable home battery system, as it uses energy generated from your solar system which can be used at night for your hot water when your solar is no longer producing electricity. Water should stay heated for 24 to 48 hours depending on the model. iStore is our preferred Heat Pump partner however we may be able to supply different brands upon request.
